Come Plein Air Paint in Wine Country Join us for an inspiring weekend of plein-air painting amidst the picturesque vineyards and gardens of Chateau Ste. Michelle. This workshop is designed for artists of all levels of oil painters who want to learn outdoor painting from experienced instructors. Acrylic painters are also welcome! September 14th and 15th, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a short lunch break Rain or shine Bring your Supplies $325 Come join us for two days of outside painting at Chateau St Michelle. We will meet at the studio on day one for a brief introduction and then head over to the winery for the rest of the weekend. We will set up in a designated area each day, where Karen will teach a morning demo on day one and Kathleen on day two. Students will then paint with instructions from both each day! Workshop Highlights: - Learn plein air techniques, including composition, color mixing, and capturing light. - Learn about products available and get useful tips on what to bring for your plein air destinations. - Receive personalized guidance from both Karen Bakke and Kathleen Penoyer. - Enjoy the serene surroundings of Chateau Ste. Michelle, while honing your artistic skills. - Connect with fellow artists and immerse yourself in the creative process. Bring Your Own Supplies: - Portable painting Easel - Canvas or plein air panels - Oil or acrylic paints - Brushes, palette knife - Hat, sunscreen, and comfortable outdoor clothing - Portable chair - Sack lunch, water A more detailed list will be provided by the instructors once signed up. Let's paint together in the heart of Woodinville Wine Country.* 🎨🍇🌿 About Karen Bakke As the Impressionists have done, Karen Bakke enthusiastically paints vibrant and fresh en plein air paintings (outdoors, on location) and breathes that same life into her studio paintings. She is not held back by any one type of subject or medium and is persistently creating challenges for herself. Karen strives to find that certain “je ne c’est quoi” - evoking a memory, a mood, or passion. Karen is a member of the American Impressionists Society, PSGNWA, NWPastel Society, PSWC, PAWA (president 2017-2021), and the Yosemite Sierra Artists. She has earned many entries into juried shows and won several awards. She resides in beautiful Sedro-Woolley, WA, “the gateway to the great North Cascades''. She travels to the Southern Yosemite area twice a year to paint the amazing character of this lesser-visited area. Karen’s former professional background included toy design, illustration and visual-effects in the tv and movie industry. About Kathleen Penoyer
